Legal and Corporate Engagement Director, EITI
ANDREW A. IRVINE is the Legal and Corporate Engagement Director at the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), the global standard for the good governance of oil, gas and mineral resources. Andy advises countries on the development of institutional and legal frameworks to achieve EITI standards, mainly with regard to anti-corruption and transparency. He also directs the EITI’s outreach efforts and engages with energy and mining companies, financial institutions and commodity traders to advance EITI company expectations, particularly regarding transparency on beneficial ownership, contracts, commodity trading, state-owned enterprises, supply chains, and artisanal and small-scale mining. He is currently based in Oslo, Norway. Prior to joining the EITI, Andy was a U.S.-based attorney specializing in energy and mining law. Andy holds advanced degrees in geological sciences, mineral economics and law.
